In order to prevent the piston from overtravel, some four-column hydraulic presses install stroke-limiting sleeves on the four-column of the workbench. The stroke limiting sleeve is designed as an integral type or a split type, and its height is the maximum opening of the four-column hydraulic press minus the piston stroke, which is equal to the minimum closing height. The upper and lower ends of the travel limit sleeve should be parallel, and the height of each limit sleeve should be the same. The inner hole is 1 to 2 mm larger than the diameter of the column.
When the general mold is relatively fixed, the working speed of the four-column hydraulic press is low, the possibility of overtravel is small, and the structure of the main cylinder port can withstand the maximum working pressure, it is not necessary to design the stroke limiting sleeve to increase the effective area of the worktable. Generally speaking, the stroke limiter is made of cast iron or welded with steel plate, and can withstand the maximum working pressure.
However, some four-column hydraulic presses are convenient for installation and give the processing master a clear lower limit indication.
