However, one of the problems that the bending machine needs to face when purchasing is the quality problem. Many companies do not know how to judge the quality of the bending machine when purchasing it. In general, the quality of the bending machine has the following basic judgment methods.
When buying a press brake, it is best to carefully consider the end use of the machine, the amount of deflection that can occur with the known machine, the bending radius of the part, etc. When the company needs to purchase a bending machine, the purchasing staff must carefully consider some time factors of the company. If the choice is not appropriate, the production cost of the company may increase, and the production efficiency may also decrease. Consider purchasing a machine that can complete the processing tasks with the shortest workbench. , the machine with the smallest tonnage.
Carefully consider material grades and maximum machined thickness and length. If most of the work is mild steel with a thickness of 16 gauge and a maximum length of 10 feet, then the free bending force need not be greater than 50 tons. However, if you are doing a lot of bottomed die forming, maybe a 150-ton machine should be considered.
Well, assuming the thickest material is 1/4 inch, 165 tons for 10 feet of free bending, and at least 600 tons for bottomed die bending, correcting the bend. If most workpieces are 5 feet or less, the tonnage is almost halved, thereby greatly reducing the acquisition cost. Part length is of considerable importance in determining the size of a new machine.
torsion, you also need to consider the possible torsion of this machine. Under the same load, the deflection of the 10-foot machine table and slider is 4 times that of the 5-foot machine. That said, shorter machines require less shim adjustment to produce acceptable parts. Reduced shim adjustment in turn reduces lead time.
Material grade is also a pivotal factor. Compared with mild steel, stainless steel usually requires about 50% more load, while most grades of soft aluminum reduce about 50%. You can always get a machine tonnage table from the press brake manufacturer that shows an estimate of the tonnage required per foot of length for different thicknesses and materials.
Bend Radius of the Part, Next, look at the Bend Radius of the part. When free bending is used, the bending radius is 0.156 times the opening pitch of the die. In the process of free bending, the opening distance of the die should be 8 times the thickness of the metal material. If the bending radius difference is not too small to the thickness of the material, a bottomed die forming is required. However, the pressure required for forming a bottomed die is about 4 times greater than that of free bending.
If the bending radius is smaller than the material thickness, a punch with a front-end fillet radius smaller than the material thickness must be used, and the imprint bending method must be resorted to. In this way, 10 times the pressure of free bending is required. For free bending, punch and die are processed at 85° or less, smaller is better. When using this set of dies, pay attention to the free space of the punch and die at the bottom of the stroke, as well as the excessive bending enough to compensate for the springback to keep the material around 90°. Generally, the springback angle produced by the free bending die on the new bending machine is ≤2°, and the bending radius is 0.156 times the opening pitch of the die.
