1. Reasons for internal leakage of hydraulic cylinder:



1. The wear ring on the piston is severely worn, causing friction between the piston and the cylinder liner, and finally straining the cylinder liner, piston and seal.

The sealing groove is too deep or too shallow, and the ovality and taper of the sealing contact surface of the relative moving parts are out of tolerance, so that it is difficult to obtain a uniform and accurate compression amount of the O-ring after installation. This situation may not be obvious or even leak at low pressure, but it is more serious at high pressure.





2. Long-term use of the seal fails, and the piston seal (mostly U, V, Y-rings, etc.) ages.

For a good sealing ring, the sealing part must be smooth and undamaged, and the shape must be regular. When the sealing ring enters the installation position, it is often necessary to pass through threads, cylinder ports or holes with sharp angles, shaft ends, etc. If the entrance is not trimmed and there is no special installation tool, the sealing ring will be scratched if you are not careful. Causes oil leakage during work.





3. The hydraulic oil is dirty, and a large amount of impurities enter the oil cylinder to wear the piston seal to the worst, usually iron filings or other foreign objects.

When the hydraulic equipment is working, the flow circulation of the oil will bring dust, abrasive particles, pollutants, etc. into the sealing parts, damage the hydraulic components and seals, and cause oil leakage.














2. Reasons for external leakage of hydraulic cylinder:

1. The damage of the seal between the extension end of the piston rod and the piston rod is mostly caused by the pulling of the piston cylinder, and it is also caused by aging.

In some workshops with poor working environment, a large amount of impurities will adhere to the piston rod, so that when the piston rod shrinks, the impurities rub against the sealing ring, and some even wear out the piston rod, causing serious impact. Therefore, a set of dust rings will be added outside the sealing ring at the piston rod, but the dust ring can play a certain protective role, but it is not absolute.



2. The seal between the extension end of the piston rod and the cylinder liner is damaged. This is mostly caused by the long-term use of the seal and the aging of the seal. There are also many seals that are squeezed and damaged by excessive force when the upper end cover is used. There are many domestic manufacturers of hydraulic cylinders. The manufacturer's design is unreasonable, and in most cases, the manufacturer is to save costs.



3. The cracking of the oil cylinder inlet and outlet pipe joints will also lead to the leakage of the hydraulic oil cylinder. Improper installation of pipe joints is the most common cause of oil leakage in hydraulic systems. Mainly due to poor sealing of the joint, the sealing oil pressure is lower than the peak pressure, and the cleanliness of the sealing surface has a great influence on the oil leakage. When there are too many impurities in the oil, it is easy to accelerate the wear of the seal and the friction surface, resulting in premature failure of the seal.












4. Oil leakage caused by defects on the cylinder block or cylinder end cover.



5. The piston rod is pulled and grooved, and there are pits and so on.



6. The deterioration of the lubricating oil causes the temperature of the oil cylinder to rise abnormally, which promotes the aging of the sealing ring.



7. The oil leakage caused by the use of the cylinder often exceeds the pressure range.

Due to the excessive pressure between the sealing ring and the support ring, the lip is rolled up and separated from the sealing surface, thus reducing the sealing performance and causing oil leakage. The same is true for Y-rings. During normal operation, the sealing is reliable, and the oil leakage can be prevented at high and low pressure and no pressure; if the frictional resistance is large, the pressing force is too large or uneven, local heating and wear will occur, which is the leakage of this kind of sealing ring. main reason.
